Ring Size Guide

A beautiful ring should feel as comfortable as it looks.

Whether you are buying for yourself or planning a surprise, a reliable measurement helps you choose a ring that feels secure and natural on the finger.

What Is Ring Size?

Ring size describes the inside measurement of a ring. ECGLOSTY uses U.S. sizing, with whole and half sizes shown below; availability of quarter sizes depends on the selected design.

The right fit slides over your knuckle with gentle resistance, sits comfortably at the base of your finger, and does not spin or squeeze.

How to Measure Ring Size at Home

Choose one of these three methods. For the most accurate fit—especially for a wide band, an eternity ring, or a surprise engagement ring—confirm your result with a professional ring sizer.

Method 1  /  Use a Printable Ring Sizer

You need: a printer, A4 paper, scissors, and the ECGLOSTY Printable Ring Sizing Guide.

• Print the PDF at Actual Size / 100%. Turn off “Fit to page” or any scaling.

• Check the 50 mm calibration line with a ruler before measuring.

• Cut out the sizing strip, open the marked slit, then thread the pointed end through it.

• Wrap it around the correct finger. Read the marking at the slit when snug but comfortable; repeat to confirm.

A printable sizer is an estimate. If the reading falls between sizes, confirm with another method before ordering.

Method 2  /  Measure With Paper or String

You need: a thin non-stretch paper strip (preferred) or string, a pen, and a millimeter ruler.

• Wrap the strip around the base of the finger you plan to wear the ring on.

• Mark the overlap without pulling tightly; make sure the loop could pass the knuckle.

• Lay it flat and measure its length in millimeters. This is the approximate finger circumference.

• Compare with the chart, measure again, and use a professional sizer if the results vary.

String can stretch or twist and paper can shift; this method is less precise than using an existing correctly fitting ring or a jeweler’s sizer.

Method 3  /  Measure an Existing Ring

You need: a ring that fits the same finger on the same hand, plus the printed ECGLOSTY chart or a millimeter ruler.

• Print the chart at 100% scale and check the 50 mm calibration line.

• Place the ring over the circles. Match the INNER edge of the ring to the circle outline, not the outside edge of the metal.

• Alternatively, measure straight across the INSIDE diameter and compare with the table below.

A reference ring worn on a different finger—or on the other hand—may not be the correct size.

Example: A finger circumference near 54.4 mm corresponds to approximately U.S. size 7. Values are guides, not a substitute for confirming fit.

ECGLOSTY ring sizes are U.S. sizes. Do not assume a Japanese, European, or U.K. designation will match exactly without checking the measured millimeters.

Tips for the Most Accurate Fit

• Measure toward the end of the day, with your hands at a comfortable, normal temperature.

• Measure the same finger and hand you intend to wear the ring on; your dominant hand may be slightly larger.

• Take more than one reading. Avoid measuring immediately after exercise, when cold, or when the finger is swollen.

• If your knuckle is larger than the base of your finger, make sure the chosen size passes over it without being loose at the base.

• Wide bands (especially those over about 4 mm), stacked rings, and comfort-fit profiles can feel different from thin bands. Try a sizer of similar width or ask our team before increasing the size.

Choosing a Size for a Surprise

Borrow a ring that your partner regularly wears on the correct finger, measure its inside diameter, or ask someone close to them who may know their size. Avoid guessing from appearance or the size of another finger.

Ring Resizing & After-Sales Care

For eligible standard rings, ECGLOSTY offers one complimentary resize requested within 30 calendar days of the date the item was available for shipment, including authorized round-trip shipping. This is subject to design and jeweler approval.

• Resizing is generally limited to a jeweler-approved range, often up to one full U.S. size.

• Full eternity bands, custom-designed, previously altered, and certain engraved or complex settings may not qualify for the complimentary resize.

• Later or additional approved resizing incurs service and authorized round-trip shipping fees, quoted for approval. Special designs require an individual assessment and quote.

• Do not use a third-party jeweler before contacting us. An altered or resized ring may no longer qualify for a change-of-mind return or exchange.

Please refer to our Returns, Refunds & Exchanges Policy and Jewelry Care Guide for full eligibility and service details.

Ring Size FAQs

What if I am between sizes?

Try both sizes with a physical ring sizer. A slightly larger size may improve comfort in some cases, but a wide band or large knuckle can change the answer.

Can every ring be resized?

No. Full eternity bands and some intricate settings may not be safely resized. Contact us before ordering if future resizing is important.
